The National Programme Manager of
the Renewed Hope - National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (RH-NHGSFP),
Dr. Princess Aderemi F. Adebowale, on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025, formally
presented the draft Enhanced Model of the RH-NHGSFP to the Honourable Minister
of State, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr.
Yusuf T. Sununu, CEO/ National Coordinator National Social Investment Programme Agency
(NSIPA) Prof. Badamasi Lawal and Local and international Development Partners.
The presentation was aimed at
outlining strategic improvements to the existing school feeding programme in
line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In her Presentation, Dr. Adebowale
emphasized the core objectives of the enhanced model, which include:
Strengthening transparency,
accountability and efficiency in programme implementation.
Leveraging digital monitoring
tools for real-time data collection and reporting.
Enhancing nutrition standards and
meal quality for school children.
Promoting local economic
development through greater inclusion of and suppliers.
Increasing community participation
and stakeholder engagement across all levels.
The Programme Manager further
highlighted the proposed operational framework, different implementation model
and the roles of key actors including cooks, ward verifiers, program Aggregators
and Logistics providers.
The Honourable Minister of State
commended the initiative and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring
that the Renewed Hope - NHGSFP achieves its intended impact on school
enrollment with assurance to relaunch School Feeding Program very soon, child
nutrition and poverty alleviation. Development partners present expressed
support for the enhanced model and pledged technical and collaborative
assistance for successful implementation.
